Practice Areas
At The Franco Law Firm, PC, we provide the following legal services.
Civil Law
Experienced in all phases of civil litigation, appeals and writs. I've successfully handled parental alienation, family law, toxic tort, traffic and juvenile dependency cases, and had the honor of volunteering as a judge pro tem for Los Angeles County, presiding over traffic and small claims actions. I am available to consult with clients to handle their own small claims matters.
Family Law
Divorce is difficult on an emotional level and there are always the monetary issues involved in a divorce proceeding. Losing time with your children can be a devastating consequence of your divorce. As one who practiced child welfare law for over 17 years, my focus will always be on helping you help your children through your divorce. After all, you are not just losing some or all of your custodial time with your children, your children are losing their precious time with you. I will offer you my best to get you through this process so you can wrap up this situation and move on with your life.
If your children and you have been suffering because the other parent is foiling your attempts to visit or even talk to your children, or not allowing you to take your children for your court ordered parenting time, call me. I an experienced in handling parental alienation cases, and I have a special disdain for people who utilize these tactics. I've been very successful in modifying court orders, or bringing this issue before the court to gain a more equitable parenting plan and enforcing it.

About The Franco Law Firm, PC
The Franco Law Firm, PC is a boutique practice founded by me, a Native American female attorney. Being Apache really doesn't have much to do with my ability to represent you, but my heritage has exposed me to people in all walks of life, and given me a "never give up" and "finish what you started" attitude. My humble upbringing has given me the ability to talk with anyone without a care about what race or gender they are, their sexual orientation, or what their financial demographics are. Several friend joked that I can tune up my own car and time the engine, and after I'm done, I put on high heels and attend a gala.
During his childhood, my father lived in a home with a dirt floor, with no electricity or running water in Roswell, New Mexico. It was made of adobe bricks that my grandpa and Great Uncle Tony Lucero made with their own hands. It wasn't because it was "cool" to live in a handmade adobe house, earth was what they had, and all they could afford to have, so they used it to build their homes. My grandparents were not allowed to shop in stores or see movies in a theater (even in a balcony), so they made the best of what life gave them. My grandpa hunted deer with a bow and arrow, he also trout fished to provide food. In turn, my Pop was truly an ace fly fisherman, and he taught me how to undo the wind knots I made all over my fishing line after I sloshed the stream into a froth with my casting. As an adult, my father, the literal genius, engineered destroyers, aircraft carriers, submarines, and auxiliary submarine rescue vessels for the US Navy. This was his career for 34 years, along with his 10 years with the US Army.
I was born in Long Beach, CA., I completed my undergraduate studies in Advertising at Loyola Marymount University in 1988. After I graduated, I took 4 years away from being full time student and worked in Corporate America while attending night classes at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA. I love photography and its a great place to study. My end goal since I was about 6 however, was to be an attorney, (I was an academic nerd in school) so I decided to study law where it all happens, in Washington, DC. I attended American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, DC. I graduated in 1995 earning my juris doctor degree, but homesick for California, I returned to the west coast in 1996 and after a little bout with some pesky cancer, was admitted to the California Bar in 1997. Having practiced Federal Indian Law, juvenile dependency, civil and corporate law, I chose to dedicate my practice to cases involving real people, helping them find resolution in their legal situations with dignity.
In the State of California, only 0.03% of attorneys are Native American. I am very proud to be a part of that 0.03%. And before you ask, I did not gain admission through Affirmative Action Programs, I didn't go to law school for free because of my status as a Native American, and no, contrary to popular belief, we do not get checks from the US Government because our heritage and we don't get to go to college and law school anywhere we want for free. (It would have been really nice if that was the case, it would have saved me 27 long years of paying those student loans back!)

I am especially fortunate to have him on my team because along with his legal skills, he speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and French fluently. Certified as a Spanish Language interpreter, he is often happy to interpret for me when I have non-English speaking clients. Hugo made his television debut at age 4, he's an accomplished actor, and is most recognized for his talent as an opera singer and crossover tenor. His voice has provided him the opportunity to sing all around the world, and alongside some of the most widely known opera stars and pop singers. He studied opera extensively while in college at the University of Kansas.

Fergus
The Office Dog and Food Taster
Fergus joined me in 2013 after I agreed to foster him for a week or two. He began his life as a sweet little puffball of white fur with green eyes and a pink nose. In his young adulthood he was used as a bait dog, and when my friend who has a rescue went to pull a dog, she saw Fergus lying on the floor, totally mauled. She stopped and said she'd take him as well, and he immediately went to the vet, got all of his inners put back inside, and was stitched up. He spent two weeks at the animal hospital due to his injuries, and when he was ready to be released, I was asked if I could foster him. I was home full time after a serious accident recovering, so of course I said "Yes!" Fergus entered my living room, saw all my other dogs' toys, arranged them in a half circle around him and fell asleep. For the first few year he was scared out of his wits and often hid from others, but he developed a unique skill. Whenever my pain became exceedingly bad, he'd nudge me over to the couch to sit, and he'd drape his body across me and not let me get up until the pain passed. Very often, I'd start doing things, forget to take my pain pills and start shaking and sweating because of the pain, and along came Fergus to stick like velcro to me, and force me to stop what I was doing and sit with him. I learned eventually that when I hurt and saw Ferg approach me, that became my alarm to take my medicine, and stop what I was doing. Fergus is just a good, all around dude. He greets everyone with a tail wag and will taste anything to let you know if he should keep it for himself or give it back to you. He'll hang out with anyone in the office and follows me wherever I go. If a client comes in, and they're hurting somewhere, Dr. Fergus will go sit and lean against them until they ask why he's doing that. The answer always is, "Because you're in pain, and he's helping you feel better."
Sharpie Franco
Nuisance
This is Sharpie. He does absolutely nothing but beg for food and yell at me. I took him to get neutered and he failed miserably, the doctors wouldn't even see him or give him a rabies shot. All he does is eat and demand to be carried. I don't even know why he's here.
